A video depicting the surgical technique for perform- ing a safe epiretinal membrane (ERM) peel on a 6 year old patient with a fibrotic membrane. ERMs are uncommon in paediatric patients, and in particular fibrotic membranes often carry poor visual prognosis. ERM peeling can be performed successfully and safely by first identifying key clinical features of the mem- brane itself, such as excluding any vascular compo- nent; and secondly with the correct technique to avoid macular trauma with removal.
